A hand-carved Nigerian Nupe or âElephantâ stool or table, hand carved from a single piece of hardwood, the top decorated in a geometric design above legs.
Elephant tables were traditionally made by the Nupe people of central Nigeria and often give as a gift from grooms to their brides.Â
A highly decorative piece of tribal art that would function well as a side table.
Overall in very good condition in an original dry finish, unusually having a single leg removed, sawn off on the underside.Â
